The 12th Man

DocumentaryDramaThrillerWar136 min

In 1943, a failed anti-Nazi sabotage mission leaves Jan Baalsrud as the only survivor, sending the Norwegian resistance fighter into a desperate flight across occupied Norway. Thomas Gullestad is Jan, wounded and hunted by the Gestapo as he tries to make his way through the frozen Arctic reaches of Scandinavia toward neutral Sweden. Jonathan Rhys Meyers is on the other side of the pursuit, part of the German force closing in as the landscape turns every mile into a fight for survival. Drawn from a true wartime story, the film follows one man’s escape and the civilians who risk themselves to keep him moving.
