The Outsiders

CrimeDrama91 min

In 1960s Tulsa, a deadly clash between the working-class Greasers and the wealthy Socs sends teenagers Ponyboy and Johnny into hiding. C. Thomas Howell and Ralph Macchio lead the story as boys pushed out of their neighborhood and into a scramble for safety, while the people waiting back home are caught in the same rigid class lines. Francis Ford Coppola directs with a young ensemble that gives the film its restless, bruised energy, framing street fights, family strain, and the uneasy stretch between childhood and adulthood on the wrong side of town.
