The Thin Man
ComedyCrimeMysteryRomance93 min
Retired private detective Nick Charles is pulled back into sleuthing when a wealthy inventor disappears at Christmastime, and the search quickly turns into a murder case. William Powell is Nick, trying to stay retired while police, family members, and assorted suspects keep pulling him back in; Myrna Loy's Nora meets the whole affair with sharp curiosity and a drink in hand, eager to join the chase. As clues pile up and the pair find themselves in danger, their terrier Asta trails close behind through hotel rooms, dinner tables, and a mystery built as much around their banter as the missing man.
