The Searchers

ActionAdventureWestern119 min

Civil War veteran Ethan Edwards returns to 1860s Texas just long enough to lose his family in a Comanche raid, then rides out with his adopted nephew Martin (Jeffrey Hunter) to find his abducted niece. John Wayne is Ethan, a man whose anger and prejudice keep sharpening as the search stretches across years and open country. Directed by John Ford, the film follows the pair through frontier settlements, desert crossings, and tense encounters on the trail, with Natalie Wood entering the story as the niece Ethan refuses to stop hunting for.
