An Affair to Remember

On an ocean voyage, a well-known man and a poised woman meet and begin a flirtation that turns serious, even though both are already engaged to other people. As the trip goes on, stolen time together gives way to a risky promise: they will part, settle their obligations, and reunite months later at the top of the Empire State Building if their feelings hold. Back on shore, distance, pride, and the lives they have already built make that promise harder to keep than it seemed at sea. Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr lead a romance built around that waiting, and the question of what each will sacrifice to start over.
