On Erin Island off Ireland’s coast, missing fishermen and a string of whale carcasses pull the local police into a bizarre invasion from the sea. Richard Coyle is Ciarán O’Shea, a work-shy officer with a serious taste for drink; Ruth Bradley’s Lisa Nolan arrives from the mainland as his by-the-book new partner. As bodies start turning up and a tentacled creature surfaces in a lobster trap, the pair have to warn a sleepy fishing village that the threat offshore is hungry, fast, and very hard to kill. Their odd advantage comes from the one thing the town never seems to run short on: alcohol.
