Over one summer day in New York City, a loose group of teenagers drifts from skate spots to house parties, filling the hours with sex, drinking, shoplifting, and fights. Leo Fitzpatrick is among the boys moving through the city with casual bravado, while another thread follows a teenage girl (Chloë Sevigny) trying to catch up with someone from the night before as the threat of HIV hangs over the day. Shot with a rough, street-level immediacy, the film stays close to its young cast and the way boredom, status, and recklessness shape their choices.
