The Interview
ActionAdventureComedy113 min
Celebrity tabloid host Dave Skylark and his producer Aaron Rapaport finally get the booking they think will make them legitimate journalists: an exclusive interview with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. James Franco is Dave, all ego and on-air sparkle; Seth Rogen’s Aaron is the anxious force trying to keep the trip to Pyongyang on track after the CIA turns it into an assassination mission. In North Korea, the setup folds celebrity culture, political satire, and bumbling espionage together, with Randall Park’s polished, image-conscious Kim Jong-un turning the interview into something much stranger than either of them expected.
