In late-1980s West Germany, a feud between two career soldiers turns a quiet stretch of the Cold War into a private battleground. An American commander, played by Roy Scheider, faces off with a Soviet officer across a tense border where every move is watched and every provocation carries consequences. What begins as a clash of pride and ideology grows more dangerous as each man tests the other with small acts of humiliation and retaliation. Their rivalry stops looking personal once it starts pulling in subordinates, straining command, and threatening to trigger an incident neither side can easily contain, with Jürgen Prochnow as the Soviet counterpart.
