Volcano
ActionAdventureDramaSci-FiThriller104 min
After an earthquake cracks open Los Angeles, lava starts pushing up beneath the city and a volcano begins forming at the La Brea Tar Pits. Tommy Lee Jones is Mike Roark, head of the city’s emergency management office, scrambling to evacuate neighborhoods and reroute the flow before it cuts through downtown. He teams with geologist Amy Barnes, with Anne Heche as the scientist trying to make sense of a disaster no one expected under L.A. Working against disbelief, failing infrastructure, and fast-moving fire, they use everything from street barriers to subway tunnels to keep the city from being overrun by molten rock.
