A boating accident strands Paul and his girlfriend Barbara on the coast of Spain, where the fishing village of Imboca seems deserted until night falls and its residents start closing in. Ezra Godden is Paul, running through narrow streets and boarded-up houses after Barbara disappears. Raquel Meroño's Barbara becomes the center of a nightmare involving a sea god, ritual sacrifice, and townspeople who are no longer entirely human. Francisco Rabal turns up among the villagers as Paul pieces together why everyone in Imboca answers to Dagon.
