Le Samouraï
CrimeDramaThriller105 min
Alain Delon is Jef Costello, a Paris contract killer whose meticulous routine starts to unravel after a nightclub hit. Once the job is done, Jef finds himself trapped between two threats: François Périer’s persistent police commissaire, who keeps tightening the investigation, and the employers who no longer want him alive. Moving through garages, bars, police lineups, and bare apartments, Jef holds to a private code behind his fedora and trench coat. Jean-Pierre Melville pares the story down to gestures, surveillance, and long stretches of silence as the walls close in around a man built to leave no trace.
