Le Cercle Rouge
CrimeDramaThriller140 min
Fresh out of prison, Corey (Alain Delon) means to keep his head down, but a chance encounter with escaped murderer Vogel pulls him back toward the criminal world. In Paris, the two join Yves Montand’s Jansen, a former policeman and alcoholic marksman, to plan an intricate jewel heist while Commissioner Mattei closes in on Vogel after losing him in transit. Jean-Pierre Melville strips the setup to its essentials: men bound by professional codes, police pressure tightening around them, and a criminal plan assembled with exacting precision.
