Of Gods and Men

Drama122 min

At a Trappist monastery in Algeria, a small group of French monks lives in close rhythm with the surrounding Muslim village, sharing work, prayer, and medical care. When fighting between the Algerian army and Islamist insurgents reaches the region, the brothers are forced to weigh their safety against their commitment to the people around them. Lambert Wilson and Michael Lonsdale are among the monks, as the film follows their daily rituals, private disagreements, and the strain that settles over the monastery as the threat outside draws nearer. Based on a true story, it stays close to the community and the choices facing it.
