A British estate agent travels to Transylvania to arrange a lease with Count Dracula, only to fall under the influence of his host and return with him to London, where a string of attacks begins around the city’s social circle. Bela Lugosi is Dracula, an elegant, unreadable nobleman whose move from a crumbling castle to London drawing rooms brings the supernatural into polite society. Helen Chandler and David Manners are among the young Londoners drawn into his orbit as the danger closes in around a nearby sanitarium and the Count’s new home.
