The Karate Kid
ActionAdventureDramaFamily140 min
When 12-year-old Dre Parker moves from Detroit to Beijing with his mother, he lands in a new school, a new culture, and the sights of a local bully after befriending classmate Mei Ying. Jaden Smith is Dre, outmatched and isolated in a city he doesn’t know, while Jackie Chan’s Mr. Han begins as the building’s quiet maintenance man before revealing a deep command of kung fu. As Han trains him, Dre starts to see that martial arts isn’t just about fighting back, but about discipline, balance, and keeping his head in a place where he feels like an outsider.
