Shall We Dance
ComedyMusicalRomance109 min
Fred Astaire is Petrov, a celebrated ballet star who arranges to cross the Atlantic on the same ship as Ginger Rogers’s Linda Keene, a musical-comedy sensation he’s fallen for from afar. Before the ocean liner reaches New York, a small lie fed to the press turns into front-page gossip that the two celebrities are secretly married. The mix-up throws Petrov and Linda into a public scandal they can’t ignore, with backstage maneuvering, newspaper frenzy, and dance-world rivalry circling around them as the story follows them from shipboard flirtation to Broadway-sized chaos.
