The Stuff
ComedyHorrorSci-Fi93 min
When a mysterious white goo is marketed as the hottest new dessert in 1980s America, former FBI agent turned industrial saboteur David Rutherford is hired to find out what “the Stuff” is and who’s making it. Michael Moriarty is Rutherford, following the trail of a wildly addictive product that seems to be swallowing the country’s appetite and common sense. Around him, Garrett Morris and Andrea Marcovicci move through a world of corporate spin, secret formulas, and consumers who can’t stop eating. The monster-movie setup is threaded with sharp satire about advertising, junk food, and a nation rushing to buy whatever it’s told to crave.
