8 Mile

Drama111 min

In Detroit, Jimmy Smith Jr. spends his days stuck between dead-end work, a crowded home life, and the stage name B-Rabbit he can barely hold onto when the spotlight hits. He wants a way into the city’s hip-hop scene, but every battle puts him up against sharper rivals, his own nerves, and the fact that he is an outsider in a Black-dominated world. As money problems and family strain keep closing in, the weekly rap contests become more than a pastime; they are his shot to prove he belongs. Eminem leads the story as Jimmy, with Mekhi Phifer as a friend urging him to stop backing down and take that chance.
