The Old Man & the Gun
ComedyCrimeDramaRomance94 min
Forrest Tucker has spent a lifetime escaping prisons and robbing banks, and age has not slowed him down. Moving with easy charm, he walks into small banks, keeps the gun mostly implied, and leaves behind bewildered tellers and a growing trail of stickups. As the robberies pile up, a detective starts piecing together the pattern and realizes the man he is chasing is both unusually polite and maddeningly hard to catch. Along the way, Tucker strikes up a late-life romance with a woman who sees the restlessness behind his calm surface. Robert Redford and Sissy Spacek lead a story about a criminal who treats each getaway like one more chance to keep living on his own terms.
