The Exorcist

Horror122 min

When 12-year-old Regan begins speaking in other voices and suffering violent, inexplicable episodes, her mother turns from doctors to the Catholic Church for help. Ellen Burstyn is Chris MacNeil, an actress and parent watching every rational explanation fail. Jason Miller's Father Karras, a priest shaken by his own doubts, is pulled into the case alongside the older, experienced Father Merrin (Max von Sydow). Directed by William Friedkin, the film brings together a family in crisis, a priest's loss of faith, and the ritual of exorcism as signs of possession overtake an ordinary home.
