What Women Want
ComedyFantasyRomance127 min
Mel Gibson is Nick Marshall, a Chicago advertising executive whose swagger gets rattled when he’s passed over for a promotion and a freak accident leaves him able to hear women’s thoughts. Suddenly listening in on what his co-workers, dates, and teenage daughter actually think, Nick tries to turn the strange new ability into an advantage at work, especially with Helen Hunt’s Darcy Maguire, the sharp executive hired above him. Nancy Meyers builds the setup around office politics, romantic friction, and Nick’s dawning awareness of how little he understands the women around him.
