Henry Roth is a commitment-shy veterinarian in Hawaii, content with brief tourist flings until he meets Lucy. Adam Sandler is Henry, whose usual charm hits a wall when Drew Barrymore’s Lucy, living with short-term memory loss, wakes up each day with no memory of him. Instead of giving up, he keeps finding new ways to introduce himself and start over, while the people around Lucy try to protect the life she’s able to hold on to. The romance leans on island routines, repeated first meetings, and Henry’s increasingly elaborate attempts to be remembered.
