Miracles of Thursday
ComedyFantasy84 min
In a struggling Spanish village, the locals hatch a plan to save their town: stage a miracle and turn the place into a pilgrimage stop. What begins as a practical scheme soon pulls in the whole community, as rumors spread, expectations grow, and keeping the story straight becomes harder than inventing it. The hoax is meant to bring tourists and money, but it also invites scrutiny from outsiders and exposes the mix of greed, faith, and desperation behind the performance. Directed by Luis García Berlanga, the film turns the village’s escalating deception into a political satire about people trying to manufacture hope and control what happens after others start believing it.
