The Grand Highway
ComedyDrama104 min
When nine-year-old Louis is sent from Paris to spend the summer in a small town in Brittany while his mother waits to have her second baby, he finds himself in the care of her friend Marcelle and Marcelle’s husband, Pelo. Away from the city, he bonds with Martine, the ten-year-old girl next door, whose blunt, unruly way of moving through the world gives him a first glimpse of things children don’t always get told outright. Anemone and Richard Bohringer are among the adults around him as the story shifts between a child’s summer wanderings and the frayed life of the household that takes him in.
