Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
CrimeDramaHorrorMusicalThriller116 min
Johnny Depp is Benjamin Barker, a barber who returns to Victorian London under the name Sweeney Todd and opens a shop above Mrs. Lovett’s struggling pie business. With Helena Bonham Carter as his eager landlady and business partner, Todd turns his trade into a revenge scheme aimed at Judge Turpin, the powerful man who destroyed his family. Tim Burton adapts the Broadway musical with songs, bloodshed, and a soot-dark Fleet Street, while Alan Rickman’s Turpin looms over the story as the target of Todd’s obsession.
