12 Strong
ActionAdventureDocumentaryDramaWar130 min
In the days after 9/11, a U.S. Special Forces team is sent into Afghanistan to target the Taliban with help from the Northern Alliance. Chris Hemsworth is Captain Mitch Nelson, the newly appointed officer leading a small unit that includes Michael Shannon and Michael Peña into unfamiliar terrain, shifting alliances, and mountain combat on horseback. Their best chance depends on Navid Negahban's General Dostum, an Afghan commander whose fighters know the land and the enemy far better than the Americans do. Based on true events, 12 Strong centers on the first U.S. troops sent into the conflict and the uneasy partnership that shapes their mission.
