FBI Special Agent Sarah Ashburn is a meticulous investigator whose polished, rule-bound approach collides with Boston detective Shannon Mullins’s profanity, gut instincts, and habit of bulldozing everyone in her path when they’re pushed together on a drug-lord case. Sandra Bullock is Ashburn, a career-minded federal agent with little patience for disorder; Melissa McCarthy’s Mullins comes at the same job from the opposite direction, all impulse, swagger, and local connections. As the investigation moves through interrogations, street-level leads, and jurisdiction fights, the case keeps forcing them to work around each other’s methods.
