After a factory worker kills his supervisor and then himself, the shock lands on his widow, Emma Küsters, who is left to face the gossip, shame, and headlines that follow. As reporters, neighbors, and political groups circle the story, her private grief is pulled into public argument. Emma tries to understand what drove her husband to that act, but every side wants to use the tragedy for its own purpose. In Frankfurt, what begins as a family disaster turns into a struggle over class, blame, and who gets to speak for the dead. Brigitte Mira anchors Emma’s mounting isolation as even her home offers less and less refuge.
