Passion Fish
Drama135 min
After a car accident leaves a former soap opera star paralyzed, she returns to her family’s home in rural Louisiana, where pain, anger, and dependence drive away one nurse after another. Mary McDonnell is the actress, now stranded in a life she doesn’t want, lashing out at everyone around her. Alfre Woodard’s newest nurse arrives with struggles of her own and proves harder to dismiss. As the two women settle into a tense daily routine of care, arguments, and hard-earned trust, the film keeps its focus on their shifting bond and the humid, close-quartered world around them.
