Steve Martin is Roger Cobb, an uptight lawyer whose latest client has one last, unusual demand: dying millionaire Edwina Cutwater wants her soul transferred into the younger Terry Hoskins (Victoria Tennant). When the spiritual handoff goes wrong, Lily Tomlin’s Edwina winds up inside Roger’s body instead, leaving him to fight for control of his own limbs while her plans keep unfolding around him. What follows hinges on the push-pull between Roger’s careful exterior and Edwina’s imperious presence, with romance and farce tangled up in the same supernatural mistake.
