Missing

DramaMysteryThriller123 min

After the 1973 military coup in Chile, Ed Horman travels to Santiago to find his missing son, an American journalist who vanished amid the crackdown. Jack Lemmon is Ed, a conservative businessman forced into a maze of embassy offices, official denials, and shifting stories; beside him, Sissy Spacek's Beth, his daughter-in-law, pushes past the same bureaucratic walls in search of Charles. Drawing on the Charles Horman case, Costa-Gavras's film follows their search as it widens from a family emergency into allegations of U.S. involvement with the new dictatorship.
