August: Osage County
ComedyDrama121 min
After a family crisis pulls the Weston sisters back to their childhood home in Oklahoma, old grievances flare under the roof of the mother who raised them. Meryl Streep is Violet Weston, a sharp-tongued, heavily medicated matriarch whose illness does nothing to soften her attacks; Julia Roberts’ Barbara returns home trying to hold the family together and ends up in a raw, escalating clash with her. As husbands, aunts, and extended relatives crowd into the house, the reunion turns into a chain of arguments, uneasy alliances, and long-buried resentments brought to the table.
