The Strange Woman
DramaRomanceThriller100 min
In 1820s Bangor, Maine, Jenny Hager is a young woman who treats charm as leverage, moving through the town’s social and business circles by seducing, deceiving, and outmaneuvering the men around her. Hedy Lamarr gives Jenny a cool, calculating center as she rises from a harsh home life and fixes on wealth, status, and control. George Sanders and Louis Hayward are among the men drawn into her orbit, in a world where marriage, money, and desire are tightly bound in an early 19th-century New England port.
