The Charge of the Light Brigade
ActionAdventureDramaRomanceWar115 min
In 1853, British officer Major Geoffrey Vickers is pulled into the Great Game as rival empires maneuver for control of India and its border territories. Errol Flynn is Vickers, facing betrayal, family conflict, and a string of reversals that carry him from colonial outposts to the Crimean War. Olivia de Havilland is part of the story’s romantic thread as the plot moves toward the mounted assault at Balaclava Heights on October 25, 1854. Michael Curtiz frames the campaign with imperial pageantry, fort attacks, and massed cavalry, building the film around one of the most famous charges in military history.
