Girls5eva
Comedy28 min per episode
When a young rapper samples an old hit by Girls5eva, the former pop group sees a narrow opening to try again years after its brief fame around 2000. Sara Bareilles is one of the four women stepping back into the spotlight, with Renée Elise Goldsberry among the bandmates trying to turn a forgotten single into a second act. Their reunion doesn’t happen in a vacuum: jobs, spouses, kids, debt, aging parents, and shoulder pain all come with them. The series folds music-industry nonsense and adult-life logistics into the same comeback story as the group tries to exist beyond its one-hit-wonder past.
