Everyone Off to Jail
ComedyDrama99 min
At Valencia’s Model Prison, a ceremony honoring people jailed during Franco’s dictatorship draws former political prisoners, officials, relatives, and assorted opportunists into one crowded reunion. What starts as a formal act of recognition quickly spirals into confusion as competing agendas, institutional chaos, and old grievances overtake the event. Luis García Berlanga keeps the action inside the prison walls, turning the gathering into a busy, satirical portrait of public ceremony and Spanish political memory. José Sacristán and José Sazatornil are among the many familiar faces moving through the crush, with Agustín González also part of the ensemble.
