The Hurricane

Drama146 min

Rubin “Hurricane” Carter is a rising middleweight contender in 1960s New Jersey when a murder charge derails his career and sends him to prison. Denzel Washington is Carter, tracing the boxer’s years behind bars and his refusal to stop fighting the conviction. As the story moves into the 1970s, it widens to the people who take up his case from the outside, with Deborah Kara Unger and Liev Schreiber among those drawn into the effort to clear his name. Boxing scenes, courtroom battles, and prison life all shape this account of a man trying to reclaim the future that was taken from him.
