Zelig
Comedy79 min
Woody Allen is Leonard Zelig, an ordinary man who becomes a sensation in 1920s America when he starts changing his face, voice, and manner to match whoever is around him. As newspapers and crowds turn the “human chameleon” into a celebrity, Mia Farrow’s psychiatrist works to make sense of a case that keeps slipping between medicine, media, and spectacle. Framed as a documentary, the film mixes talking-head interviews with fake newsreels and altered archival footage, dropping Zelig into the company of figures like Woodrow Wilson and Babe Ruth as his public image grows through the 1920s and 1930s.
