Otley

Comedy92 min

Gerald Otley is a drifting petty crook and habitual freeloader whose bad luck turns disastrous when he wakes after a drunken night to find his host murdered and himself caught in an espionage mess. Tom Courtenay’s Otley lurches through swinging London as police, spies, and assorted strangers seem to think he knows far more than he does. Romy Schneider is the woman who whisks him away before the authorities arrive, only to discover he’s as clueless as he looks. Mistaken for both a killer and a secret agent, Otley stumbles from one tightening predicament to the next.
