Tea for Two
ComedyMusicalRomance98 min
Heiress Nanette Carter wagers her uncle $25,000 that she can say no to everything for 48 hours — and if she wins, she’ll use the money to mount a Broadway show built around her beau’s songs and her own starring role. Doris Day is Nanette, charging ahead with a bet that collides with the stock market crash. Gordon MacRae is the songwriter she’s determined to put onstage, while Nanette remains unaware that her uncle’s fortune has vanished. The result is a 1920s backstage tangle of romance, money trouble, and musical ambition.
