The Banker

Drama120 min

In the 1960s, Bernard Garrett and Joe Morris, two Black entrepreneurs, devise a plan to break into the white-controlled worlds of banking and real estate. Anthony Mackie is Garrett, an ambitious businessman looking for a way around the barriers of segregation, while Samuel L. Jackson’s Morris brings experience, nerve, and a sharper read on how the system works. As they build their operation, they rely on a white front man to navigate a housing market built to shut them out. Inspired by true events, the film follows their push for financial access and housing integration in a country stacked against both.
