Ben Affleck is Ollie Trinke, a young music publicist whose polished life collapses after an unexpected loss leaves him raising his daughter alone. Forced back into his father’s New Jersey home, Ollie has to reckon with single parenthood, a career that’s stalled out, and a child who sees straight through him. George Carlin gives Ollie’s father a dry, no-nonsense presence, while Raquel Castro makes his daughter more than a cute sidekick, with a sharp tongue and her own sense of how things should work. Liv Tyler enters as a new connection in Ollie’s life as he tries to find his footing again.
