Disobedience
DramaRomance114 min
Rachel Weisz is Ronit, a New York photographer who returns to North London after the death of her estranged father, stepping back into the Orthodox Jewish community that cast her out years earlier. There she reconnects with Rachel McAdams's Esti, the childhood friend at the center of the attraction that first marked Ronit as an outsider. Their reunion stirs old desire against a world shaped by ritual, family expectation, and close communal scrutiny. Sebastián Lelio's drama keeps its attention on what Ronit's return unsettles, both between the two women and within the community she once left behind.
