In 2071, after a hyperspace-gateway disaster leaves Earth nearly uninhabitable, humanity spreads across the planets and moons of the Solar System, and legalized bounty hunters — “Cowboys” — make a living bringing criminals in for the ISSP. Cowboy Bebop follows that world through a roaming band of hunters chasing payouts from one job to the next, moving through bars, backwater colonies, and busted-up ships where every stop has its own trouble. Kôichi Yamadera and Unsho Ishizuka are central to the Japanese voice cast, and the series mixes gunfights, deadpan comedy, and noir shading with a strong jazz pulse running underneath its vision of the future.
