A Tokyo detective investigates a string of murders that look unrelated except for one detail: each killer is caught at the scene, confesses, and cannot explain why they did it. As the cases pile up, the pattern points toward a drifter who leaves people disoriented, suggestible, and suddenly capable of violence. The detective presses for a rational link, but the closer he gets, the more the inquiry slips from ordinary police work into something harder to name and harder to contain. Kōji Yakusho anchors the search for answers as a man trying to hold onto reason while the crimes keep spreading.
