Rookie of the Year

ComedyFamilyFantasy103 min

After a schoolyard accident leaves 12-year-old Henry Rowengartner with an arm that can throw 103 mph, the struggling Chicago Cubs pull him from the bleachers to the mound. Thomas Ian Nicholas is Henry, a baseball-mad kid suddenly juggling homework, Wrigley Field, and a clubhouse full of skeptical adults. Alongside him, Gary Busey’s battered veteran pitcher becomes an unlikely guide as the team tries to climb out of last place. The movie folds a kid’s impossible dream into the routines and egos of the major leagues, with Henry’s sudden fastball turning him into Chicago’s most unexpected pitcher.
