The Extraordinary Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec
ActionAdventureComedyFamilyFantasyMystery107 min
Popular novelist Adèle Blanc-Sec spends less time at her desk than outrunning would-be suitors, skeptical policemen, and the monsters disrupting 1910s Paris. Louise Bourgoin gives Adèle a cool, amused edge as the writer's latest pursuit draws her toward Egyptology, parapsychology, and a trail of tombs and mummies. The film mixes Belle Époque adventure with broad comedy, sending its heroine through a city of eccentric scholars, official bungling, and prehistoric creatures suddenly in the headlines.
