After a one-night stand in college, New Yorkers Lainey and Jake cross paths 12 years later and realize they have the same problem: neither can keep a relationship intact. Alison Brie is Lainey, still caught between old habits and old attachments, while Jason Sudeikis’s Jake meets her with the same mix of candor, flirtation, and bad timing. To avoid repeating themselves, they agree to stay friends and keep things strictly platonic, even as their chemistry keeps testing the arrangement. Amanda Peet, Adam Scott, and Natasha Lyonne round out the orbit of exes, friends, and complications around them.
