In a future where the American wasteland has collapsed into the towering sprawl of Mega-City One, Judges serve as police, court, and executioner. Karl Urban is Dredd, a veteran lawman paired with rookie Judge Anderson, whose psychic abilities give Olivia Thirlby’s character an edge on her first assessment. What starts as a routine raid inside a 200-story housing block turns into a lockdown fight with Ma-Ma, the drug boss controlling the building and flooding the city with the reality-altering narcotic Slo-Mo. The film keeps its focus tight: one fortress-like tower, a corrupt system, and justice enforced at gunpoint.
